Eucalyptus Essential Oil: DIY Recipes

You can’t go past eucalyptus essential oil for this condition. Everyone knows good old Vicks rub. Guess what it contains - eucalyptus oil.

There are a number of ways to use eucalyptus essential oil for chesty upsets.

Diffuser

The great thing with the electric diffusers is many have an automatic cut-off for either when they run out of water or after a certain length of time. So you could turn your diffuser on at night for easy breathing while you sleep and it will do it’s thing.

Try:

3 drops lavender

2 drops eucalyptus

1 drop benzoin

Benzoin is made from a natural gum and has a soft vanilla-like fragrance.

Or this blend:

2 drops eucalyptus

1 drop peppermint

1 drop Scots pine

This will be a very camphorous-like blend and will clear things quite incredibly.

Vaporise

So simple - fill a bowl with warm water, add a drop or two of eucalyptus, lean over the bowl, cover your head and the bowl with a towel and breathe in the vapour. Swap 1 drop of eucalyptus for peppermint or lavender or rosemary. Rosemary can help improve concentration and memory.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil has been known to reduce pain after surgery, alleviate arthritic pain and help with muscle stiffness.
**Give this massage blend a go:**
2 tablespoons sweet almond oil (carrier oil)
10 drops marjoram essential oil
5 drops eucalyptus essential oil
5 drops chamomile essential oil
**Bath Blend**
Baths are a fantastic way to unwind. How often do you just stop and sit ? Take a good book or a wine with you, light a candle and voila - your own private sanctuary,
To your warm bath add the following:
1 tablespoon wheatgerm oil
10 drops juniper berry essential oil
10 drops eucalyptus essential oil
2 drops thyme essential oil
2 drops lavender essential oil
Soak and relax !
**Compress**
Fill a bowl with warm or hot water and add:
3 drops rosemary essential oil
3 drops eucalyptus essential oil
Soak a cloth in the water, wring out and place over your achy bits.

Floor Cleaner

Tile Floor

Fill a bucket with lukewarm water. Add 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar then the following essential oils:

5 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil

10 drops Lemon Essential Oil

Insect Repellant

Massage Blend

1 tablespoon carrier oil (grapeseed, jojoba, fractionated coconut etc)

5 drops lemongrass essential oil

3 drops eucalyptus essential oil

Blend all the ingredients together to ensure they are thoroughly mixed. Rub over the exposed area

Bug Spray

1 cup distilled water

10 drops lavender essential oil

5 drops eucalyptus essential oil

Shake well to mix and spray on exposed body parts.

I bet you didn’t know this - a drop or two on your shoe where you’ve just picked up melted tar from the road will remove the tar ! Give it a rub with a cloth. Apply as much eucalyptus essential oil as you need.
It also removes sticky labels from jars. Soak as much of the label off as possible first then go to town with your eucalyptus essential oil.

Australian Aboriginals used eucalyptus leaf infusions as a traditional medicine for treating body pains, sinus congestion, fever, and colds.
